Placenta Salve…..What is it?

One of the add ons I offer is Placenta Salve.

Placenta Salve is made with my salve base and has dried placenta added to it.

It’s great for skin irritations, dry skin, perineal or c-section scarring once healed.

Hey there! I’m Heather! I have been obsessed with placentas since 2006 when I encapsulated my first placenta. That was my own. The entire time I kept thinking people should not be doing this on their own while postpartum. I knew I wanted to do this for others. It took 6 years before I offered my service to the public and 14 years after that I still am. I am also the Director of Association of Placenta Preparation Arts. I am passionate about placenta encapsulation safety and research as well as practicing with integrity and in community. We can all be successful.

One of the absolute most import thing to me regard

One of the absolute most import thing to me regarding placenta encapsulation in my practice and as an industry is safety. Please please please speak with your encapsulator and discuss their practices with them and then do a little research to see if what they use eliminates blood borne pathogens. There are some instances where vinegar is not it and this is one of them. Biokleen is not it. Hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite at the appropriate levels are the standard for keeping your encapsulation safe and sanitary.

A very small portion of clients report (about 1%) experiencing negative effects with encapsulation including headaches and mood swings. Usually a usage adjustment fixes that.

2. When your kid falls asleep at 5pm chances are they are ill.
3. I looooooove making soups and stews in the winter.

I think sometimes providers mean well and sometime

I think sometimes providers mean well and sometimes they have bias. The fact is a lot of providers are not out there keeping up to date with the latest research on placenta encapsulation. If they tell you something negative ask for evidence to back it and that reach out to me and I will provide you with non-biased feedback. I will absolutely tell you it shouldn’t encapsulate because I’m committed to safety and integrity.
